*Punjabi Rasoi provided me with their food. They did not pay for this review and the views expressed above are my honest thoughts and reactions after trying their food. .
It’s been a week since I had Punjabi Rasoi in Ajax, ON. deliver their incredible Vegan North Indian dishes. Their food was so delicious that I’ve been craving it all week long. This week has felt like it’s dragged on and I mostly blame them for that. I’ve been craving their food ever since I had it! Seriously, their food is that good.
I first met Ginni a couple of years ago after a few local food bloggers decided to meet up for lunch. We wanted to connect over some delicious food and talk all things food-blogger. Since then we’ve continued to stay in contact. A few weeks ago she approached me and asked if I’d be willing to try and review a new start-up restaurant that she and her husband were working on. I guess I was their ginny pig… I’m so glad that I was their ginny pig!
Everyone knows that Indian food is amazing. It’s like getting hit in the mouth with flavour with each bite. Regardless if your only exposure to Indian food is samosas, you know what I’m talking about. Your palate is overwhelmed, in the best possible way, by curry. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! When my food arrived I encountered dishes I’ve never had before and the best part? They’re completely vegan. Every dish I had was as good as the next. Whether it was their Pinto Beans and Lentils Curry, Aloo Methi(Potatoes with Fresh Fenugreek), Yellow Tarka Dal, Blindi Masala Okra, or the Mixed Pakoras, my taste buds were always intrigued and engaged. Hell, even their rice and Rotis were full of flavour. I imagine that is how those dishes would taste if I was India; Home made, down to earth, delicious food.
I would recommend Punjabi Rasoi. There always something new to try at Punjabi Rasoi. Their goal is to great dishes using seasonal ingredients. This allows them to create weekly menus, so there is always something new to try! They release the new menu every week on Fridays. If there is a downside it’s that they are only open on weekends for delivery. But, you can place an order throughout the week in preparation for the weekend. Why not make this weekend full of flavour and try out Punjabi Rasoi? If you mention The Hesitant Chef, they’ll give you 20% off your first order. Just go try them! You won’t be disappointed! Click on their logo and you'll be directed to their facebook page where you can make your order.
